Voice Recognition (also known as speech
recognition) software allows a user to use his/her voice as an input
device so that s/he can dictate text into the computer and control
applications.
Most people can speak over 120 words
per minute but type 40 words a minute. Using voice recognition software
can save typing time and reduce typing mistakes. Accuracy and
compatibility are critical criteria for a good voice recognition program.
